Metal Method Productions 1986
Perhaps not the most triumphant return after such an extended break, but whatever... it's Doug Marks motherfucker! Yeah you remember. He's the dude who used to advertise his Metal Method guitar technique in the back of Circus and Hit Parader (or whatever other glossy 80s American Metal rags would have 'im) along with his ear shattering pal Jim Gillette (NITRO). Apparently not content with creating a basement army of pimply faced pseudo-shredders, Marks decided to ply his trade with a real band... the hackneyed HAWK. More than just platforms for endless shredding, the songs on Hawk are fully realized, if unmemorable and chock fulla run-of-the-mill riffs. Marks' solos are often buried under gobs of reverb and delay... but let's be honest, no one really wants to hear his mindless wanking anyways... am I right? More notable than Marks himself is that erstwhile G'N'R drummer Matt Sorum plays on this, HAWK's only release until last year's posthumous Let The Metal Live.

Stoked you're back, sir! RGtHN was an indispensable resource at my desk job, was worried you'd packed it in.
Hey, you really didn't fall off the face of the earth.
I bought this one on CD several years ago. It's alright, kind of a Dio meets Dokken kind of sound.
Yeah I'm still kickin' around... just haven't felt much like ripping vinyl lately. I'ma continue posting stuff, just not as regularly as I had been.
I got a bit of a DIO vibe from this record as well.
Yeah dude, I had wondered what happened to you as well. I admit that I have let my forum backslide a bit, and I blame it on being lazy after work. It's good to see you back on again. If you're slacking back on the blog posts, but connect on the net any other way than this (like AIM, Windows Messenger, Facebook, Xbox Live, etc.) let me know. I use a lot of different stuff to chat and connect with cool people when I find time, and could add you to any of those listed above. Free vinyl rips or not, it's still cool to hear from ya. I'll check this one out as soon as I add it to the Collection of Dess ("Death" in a German accent)
Dude... Thanks a lot for this awesome material... I really think that you blog is the best blog that I have ever seen... I love your blog presentation and the way that you review those metal albums... I download this album 'cause I lose it long time ago but the first track is damaged, when I try to extract it WinRar says 'CRC Error, damaged archive'... If you can, fixed it...
Oh!!... Review my band if you want... www.myspace.com/aggressivethrash
See ya Brother!!!
Thanks for the heads up Luis. I'm re-upping the album now.
